Sunshine equals energy. Not solar energy for appliances but solar energy for me. I get double the amount of things done when the sun shines. The gloomy days just put a damper on everything.
Yesterday was so gorgeous. We started the day pulling up the rug in the office and moving the desk around. Then all kinds of possibilities came to mind. My husband and I were getting on a roll. We took the books out of the bookshelving and took the bookshelf apart. I’ll use the pieces to make a built-in bookshelf in the closet. My husband loves books and how they look. I think books look messy. We compromised and decided on moving them into the closet. This way we keep the books close but they will be behind a closed door.
The heart pine under the rug is pretty dinged up. We suspected it probably was. That is why the previous owners covered it up. But that is something I can do myself, it’s just a lot of work. I’ll do that when I finish the projects I’m already on. It still looks better than that old rug. (Boy, I hear the neatest little bird outside.)
Then the inspiration to get rid of that humongous monitor. We drove up to Best Buy and bought a nice LG 19″ wide Flatron monitor. What a difference it makes on the desk. I feel like there is twice the room.
Time to get planting my dahlias and making the bookcase.
With regards to the “Day of Silence”. I would participate but I don’t think being silent does anything but make bloggers pat themselves on the back for organizing a “Kumbaya” moment and holding hands, as effective as the two-finger peace sign. Some people have the need to feel a part of something and it makes them feel good about it. Then I agree they should participate if they think it is the right thing to do. Had this been a National Day of Prayer today for the victims families, I would participate, where as others wouldn’t. I’m no lemming, and neither should you be, do what you want and don’t feel pressured to follow the crowd just because. We are free. To each his own. There are endless other ways to help the victims families. I will participate in the May 3, National Day of Prayer.

You are always such a joy to read. I’m usually smiling all the way through all of your blog posts….especially the bus adventure, and especially today’s.
