We traveled through the “Hub of Oildom.”

Came upon some “run out in front of a car and see if they can stop” beings.

After coming across several “animals” (though no “Bigfoot”) we concluded that today was Halloween for Oil City. The city must have Halloween in the middle of the day. I know they still are affected by Shawna Howe’s murder. She was murdered October 27th, 1992 while walking home from a Halloween party.

My experiment with binoculars and digital point and shoot camera. This log was quite far away. Even with zooming on my camera it was barely visible without the binoculars. I took the photo through the binoculars at my highest resolution without a tripod. I was holding the binoculars in one hand and the camera in the other set at macro. Below is that same shot enlarged and cropped. Not too bad. I think I could identify birds from shots like these even though they are not nearly as good as having a high powered camera and lens. I think with a tripod it will actually work out pretty good. I’m working on telescope shots, too.

I have video footage a a beautiful buck we saw outside of Rouseville. I’ll be posting that soon.
